Both Dick & Kevin have already been recruited for one of the committees. Someone needs to quickly do the same for John and Deloris.

Sponsorship

Well, we’re off to a good start this year. We’ve hit the ground running and have fired off the first salvo to a great year….How’s that for a bunch of colorful language that doesn’t say a whole lot about much?

Let’s get more to the point. Thanks to this great organization, we have already donated just over 7,000 dollars to variety of needs within our community. As you can see by the adjacent graph, we are well on our way towards our goal of contributing $60,000 to local schools, charities and needy families win our community. This first quarter we have contributed to Blue Santa, Brown Santa, Just Because, The Williamson Crisis Center, and $1,500 to two families in need.

In the future, look for us to continue our support of the Round Rock Independent School District, other needy families, area nursing homes, and the SERTOMA Girls Baseball League. It won’t stop there, however.

One new sponsorship project we are working on is the SHARP program. SHARP stands for SERTOMA Hearing Aid Recycling Program. In January, we should have the basic program laid out to begin collecting hearing aids and submitting them to the University of Texas Speech and Hearing Center to be recycled. We have a couple of interested Sertomans ready to make this program work and will be looking for one or two other members to help Look for more to come in future newsletters about this exciting program.
