Attendance Report for March 2003
Tino Hernandez again led a group of mercy missionaries to assist the rural native people of Honduras. Our Club is extremely proud of Tino; our prayers are with him and his team. This year another member of our Club, Mark Meyer, joined Tino on the trip. In spite of being extremely busy with an important full time job plus working on his Masters degree at night, Mark still found time for this very worthy project.
Fred Knorre had shoulder surgery to repair his rotator cuff; he’s back up and around but with his arm is a sling.
Cecil Latham missed one meeting due to being out of town on business. However, we all know that Cecil is not all work and no play; he, his wife A. J., along with Fay and Jay Latham, went on a cruise in the Bahamas. Gerald and Joleen Boyer were in California to attend his niece’s wedding. While in Tampa, Karl Hanner attended the New York Yankee’s spring training where he got Roger Clemens to autograph a ball. One of our new members, Travis Lucas, is in Washington, D. C. helping set up Congressman Carter’s office; Travis heads up the congressman’s Round Rock office.
Bill Von Rosenberg has started a new job with Southern Systems located in southeast Austin. Kevin Wilson also has taken a new job and has been undergoing special training in Houston. Jim Coors has quit his job and is going back to school; he plans to start attending meetings when he finishes the course.
Again this year, Fred and Norma Adams are working to help grade the students TAAS test; Fred will miss several meetings. Anne and Bruce Shove went to Iowa for the sales closing on some property that she owned there.
We had an average of 43 members attend our March meeting. That’s an average attendance of 55.6%, which is well below our average. You can ‘makeup’ a missed meeting by attending another club’s meeting or a District/Regional meeting; let me know if you make up. Dot Gill won the perfect attendance drawing for the second quarter; she won dinner for two at Olive Garden ($30 gift card) plus two Round Rock Express tickets.
