The N.A.T.S.S.A Mystery Solved!

N.A.T.S.S.A  was explained and presented at the Awards Banquet. We learned that N.A.T.S.S.A. stands for ‘Not All That Serious Sertoma Awards.’ (One attendee suggested the acronym be read backward!)  Several members were blessed with these prestigious awards:

The ‘Anything to Get Out of Work Award’ went to Dick Reid.  After working two shifts at the beer trailer on Friday during Frontier Days, Dick decided that he would do anything to get out of working his scheduled shift on Saturday. So what did he do?  He went ahead, had a heart attack and almost died.  At least he got out of working on Saturday.

The ‘Dumb and Dumber Award’ went to Kim Haugen and Fred Knorre for coming to a Tuesday morning Sertoma meeting when there was three inches of ice on the roads after the worst sheet storm in Round Rock in the past two decades.  The other 74 Sertomans knew to stay home.

The ‘Punctuality Award’ was presented to Mike Parker for his unblemished record on never having come to a Sertoma function on time. “Is Mike here, yet?”

The ‘Homeless’ Award was shared by Cliff Woisin, Jim Greene, Tom Gill and Wes Carlson.  Since mid-April this group has been wandering aimlessly looking for ‘someplace’. This all started with the closing of their home-away-from-home, The Tap.

The ‘Language Interpretation’ Award was given to Rufus Honeycutt.  We are proud that

Dominique Digesualdo has been Frontier Days General Chairman for the past several years. However it has rained on each of those events.  Rufus explained that “Digesualdo” is the Italian word for ‘rain-storm.’
