Here it is, my third effort at a newsletter that will both entertain and inform. I’ll be real honest with you, I don’t know what you like or dislike about my first two newsletters since nobody has bothered to comment to me about them, either positively or negatively. I can’t help but wonder if this is adherence to that old adage, If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.
I got a great deal of support with November’s issue, thanks I believe to a great deal of nagging by Dot Gill. Dot keeps asking me to nag you, the membership, for articles and support for this publication. I’m just not going to do that. I’ve been told that everyone in this club is an adult and as such should know what their responsibilities and duties are. If you don’t want to write anything for this newsletter then I don’t want to publish it. It’s as simple as that. I can easily convert this multi-page format to a single sheet news-note. It would be a whole lot easier for me to compile and save a great deal of wear and tear on my printer.
Dot is concerned that if this club doesn’t support my efforts with respect to this publication, then not enough issues will be published for this club to be eligible for an award at the Convention. Is this the only reason I’ve been asked to do this job?
To date the response I’ve received from this membership with regards to my publishing efforts is at about 2%, roughly the same response I’d get if I mailed a bunch of solicitation letters to strangers. Seriously, I’m not looking for applause or appreciation, I’d just like some acknowledgement that someone out there is reading this and that my efforts aren’t just so this club can win an award at a convention.
Am I asking for too much?
