FRONTIER DAYS SUCCESS

Many thanks to all those members who spent part of their July 4th weekend working at the Frontier Days Sertoma booth.  The weather was not the most cooperative but for the Friday night fireworks it was just beautiful and a large crowd was there to see it all happen.  Saturday it rained on and off most of the day but cleared up around 8:00 PM and just like Friday, it was beautiful.  The crowd for Saturday was very small and certainly not too thirsty, but we were able to see the fireworks that were set off after the ballgame at Dell Diamond.  What a show it was, probably the best I’ve ever seen!

We had 31 members work our booths, this includes those who sold drinks, tickets, and did the restocking.  It wasn’t the best ever event, but we did walk away with just a little over $1,900, which will go a long way in helping someone in our community.

I surely don’t want to forget to put in a big thanks to Dominick, Dennis, and Rufus.  They helped us but also spent a tremendous amount of time working for the Frontier Days corporation, putting it all together and then making sure it all did happen.  You guys did a great job!  I also want to thank Jim Brock and Dick Reid for their assistance in coordinating our activities and also Cliff Woisen for continuing to be my right arm in doing the planning and checking for the event.
