I just returned from the Caribbean cruise that Donna and I purchased at the Sertoma Casino Night Auction. It was a great trip on a brand new ship called Norwegian Dawn. Both from a personal perspective and as Club President, I’d like to thank Ryan Johnson at Spectacular Cruise Holidays (244-4998) for donating the trip. As a result of his generosity, the Club added $2600. for Sponsorship activities.

While on the cruise, sitting by the pool, I was wearing a Sertoma T-shirt. Two or there passengers inquired about Sertoma.  I explained our Clubs mission, how we are organized and the impact we have had in Round Rock.  None of the folks I talked to were previously aware of Sertoma and each promised to visit International’s website to explore Sertoma Clubs near their homes. Perhaps a new member or two have been recruited.

In the past months, I have used this article to solicit your involvement in Club activities. Many of you have responded and have expressed great satisfaction with the results of your volunteer activities.  Members who are actively involved get the most out of their Sertoma experience.  In the not too distant future it will be time to begin the process of nominating Club Officers for next year.  I will be asking for your help to nominate potential officers or volunteer yourself.  I would appreciate you giving some thought to this.

As we look forward to spring and summer, we have a number of great activities planned. Convention, tail-gate parties, a golf tournament are just a few.  Sign up and get involved!
