A Sponsorship Newsletter Article

The Sponsorship Committee has been very busy during the first two months of the new Sertoma year.  We have established an annual sponsorship budget that allows for $54,000 of club funds to be reinvested into the Round Rock Community through a variety of sponsorship programs, including individual speech & hearing support, national heritage, scholarships, and donations to a variety of other community support programs and organizations.  We have created a new Sponsorship Request Form to formalize the sponsorship process; thanks to the diligent work of Dick Reid, the form is now available for submission online through the club website at http://www.rrsertoma.org/sponsorship_request.htm. We have established a set of goals and objectives for the year, which include:

bullet Continuing to provide financial and volunteer support to a variety of programs and recipients in the Round Rock area
bullet Increasing Sponsorship Committee membership and participation
bullet Increasing sponsorship opportunities by encouraging committee and club members to actively solicit requests for support

We have funded the following two requests thus far:

bullet Bone Marrow Foundation - $300 contribution in conjunction with the annual foundation golf tournament (members who participated in the tournament individually contributed an additional $300 to the cause to cover the golf registration).
bullet Jenna Boehm - $1,000 donation to a single-mother who has been experiencing significant financial difficulty.  Funds to be used to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of herself and her infant.

Note: Regularly scheduled Sponsorship Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at Brath General Contractors at 6:30pm.  All interested members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
