The President's Message

Thank you to all the club members who had participated with the tree planting in Old Settler’s Park. What a great way to keep Round Rock green. I have been told that you worked very hard and under muggy conditions.

We have a few changes to the 2004-2005 Board.  Mark Meyer resigned and Dick Reid will take over as Treasurer.  Kristin Stevens is a new mother and extremely busy with little Cade, so Norm Noffsinger will take over as Serteen Advisor.  I sincerely thank these two gentlemen who came forward and volunteered to fill these two positions.

We have some important dates coming up, so please mark your calendars:

April 14th 6:30PM - 8:30PM Dr. Glen Luepnitz, Nutritionist Jean Cochran Center
7320 Wyoming Springs
April 22nd thru April 24th SW Regional Convention Holiday Inn North  (Meacham Exit)
Fort Worth, Texas
May 23rd 5th Annual HOT District Tailgate Party Dell Diamond
June 4th Annual Awards Banquet St. Williams PAC

The April 18th BBQ at Jon Koch’s ranch has been cancelled due to a conflict with the opening game at Dell Diamond.

I hope to see a lot of you at the SW Regional Convention.  This is the last one, as we know it.  Next year  we will be merged with the Mid-West and I believe we will be then known as the “Heart of America Region”.

President

Points of Interest

April is the fourth month of the year, according to the Gregorian calendar, which is used by most of the world today. The Romans called the month Aprilis. This name might have come from a word meaning to open, or from the name of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. April was the second month in an early Roman calendar. However, it became the fourth month when the ancient Romans moved the beginning of the year to January. On the first of April, April Fools' Day, people all over the world cause mischief and play tricks on each other.

Snowfall !!  On a surprising morning in February we were greeted with a lovely late winter scene which is a rare sight for us.
