Sertoma started a One for One incentive program last year to recognize those Sertomans who recruited new members. Earning a One for One pin or tab for multiple new members was the incentive and this year they are adding an extra award for those who “Make it Happen”.
For every member you recruit between July 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004, not only do you help your club, you help yourself reach for the sky. With every new member you recruit, you become eligible for an Air Check, which gives you up to $100 off an airline ticket.
Rules for the Award are as follows:

Mary Lee and I will be traveling through the greater Northwest for the next month or so. Dot gill will be taking over responsibilities as Treasurer. Please give her your full support by properly identifying all incurred expenses and completing the prepared Financial Transaction Request form. Monthly financial statements will only be as accurate as the data provided by Club members. Also, another reminder for those members currently in arrears for quarterly dues - please submit your check for outstanding dues to Dottie. Unpaid dues could result in a loss of the key to the Tuesday morning coffee spigot and/or the combination to the pastry box. We'll be thinking of everyone as we watch the whales off Newport Beach in Oregon and tour the Napa Valley wineries.
Dick Reid
Treasurer

Approximately 40 officers in the Heart of Texas District Sertomans participated in the District Leadership Meeting led by District Governor John Richard Hemenway from Waco.
Governor Hemenway began by introducing himself and having each participant introduce themselves and give a brief autobiography and reason for joining Sertoma. Alton Borel, our International Director, was present with his wife from Port Arthur, Texas and gave us a report on International.
Of the officers attending the meeting, 11 were from your club and led many of the small workshops. Various workshops were about fundraising activities, charities, increasing membership, developing leadership….
Building membership was given great importance. Texas leads international membership with a gain of 5 total. Borel said internationally we had a net loss of 619 members with 28 clubs disbanded and 6 unclear as to their status. There are 652 members in the Southwest Region. The next Southwest Region convention will be at the Holiday City Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 21st - 22nd, 2005.
