The President’s Message

It has been quite an exciting three months!!

The club did a fabulous job putting on the 16th annual Casino Night with Mike Parker at the helm.

Richard Prete and his three captains Mike Whelpley, Cecil (and A.J.) Latham and Jon Koch all worked hard to make this year’s Xmas tree sale a success.  Many thanks to all the members who came out to help. It would not have been a success without you.  Competition was fierce this year….however…our team came through.  Richard will soon give us a complete update on the Xmas Tree sales.

Deloris Schoenfeld dishing out ice cream...

We have completed four Ice Cream Socials.  These took place at Merrill Gardens, Grand Court, Hearthstone and Trinity Lutheran.  We have handed out approximately 56 lap blankets to the various residents, thanks to Bill Beare’s sister-in-law, Deloris Schoenfeld and myself.  The residents enjoy the socials and look forward to our coming.  Tom and I cannot do this alone, so we wish to thank Deloris, Mike Whelpley, Jim Greene, Ron and Jann Gorman and Don and Jackie Waldecker who gave an hour of their time on a Sunday afternoon.  Also thanks to our son Brion and family who came to help at Trinity Lutheran.

In this quarter, we also said goodbye to some of our members who have resigned. Isabel and Russell Gallahan, Christine Hanson and Dave Hamby.  So folks, we need to bring some new members in to fill the gap.

Soon our nominating committee consisting of Past Presidents will be making calls to members to step forward and become part of the leadership team for our next fiscal year (July—June). Our Club has been blessed with great leaders over the years and we need to continue this trend.

Congratulations to Kristin and Sean Stevens on their new baby boy Cade Charles Stevens (and potentially a new member). Congrats also to Grandpa Charlie who is positively beaming.

Tom and I extend our heartfelt wishes for a HAPPY, SAFE AND PROSPEROUS HOLIDAY SEASON.

Dottie Gill,
President

Presents at last year’s        Appreciation Banquet

We are holding the banquet at a new location this year. Go north on Wyoming Springs Road off of FM620 for about 1 mile to the Jean I. Cochran Community Center. It is on the east side of the road across from Fern Bluff Elementary school. The center is brand new, very, very nice and large enough to easily accommodate our group in a spacious manner.

The cost to club members and their guest is only $5.00 per person.  RSVP to Mark Meyer, oscarmeyer@ev1.net, 632-2074, or Jim Greene, thegreenehouse@yahoo.com, 990-2658.

Social Hour at 6:00PM, dinner at 7:00PM and dress is holiday casual.
